The other understands the subject, asks thoughtful questions, compares information, evaluates evidence, and uses technology to extend their research.

Both students technically “used AI.”

Only one demonstrated intellectual independence.

That distinction will become increasingly important.

Technology may change dramatically before today’s elementary students enter the workforce.

Specific software they learn today may disappear.

Certain careers may transform.

New professions will emerge.
